Looking for a gym in Carnforth? Here's exactly what TNT Fitness offers: the kit, the classes, the coaches and every price, just off the A65 at Cowan Bridge.
You want a gym in Carnforth, but every search turns up hotel spas, booking apps and directory listings that tell you nothing useful. You still don't know what the equipment is like, who'll be on the floor, or what it costs before you hand over your card details.
This guide answers all of that for TNT Fitness. We're at Unit 1 Bridge Mill, Cowan Bridge, on a Carnforth postcode. By the end you'll know exactly what you get, what you'll pay and how to try it before you commit.
Is TNT Fitness Actually a Gym in Carnforth?
On the envelope, yes. Our address is Cowan Bridge, Carnforth, LA6 2HS. On the map, we sit on the A65 between Kirkby Lonsdale and Ingleton, so for people in Carnforth town we're a drive out rather than round the corner.
We'll be straight about who that suits. If you want somewhere to stroll to in your lunch break, a gym in town might fit you better. If you want a gym worth driving to, that's what we're built for: proper coaching, a community that notices when you're missing, and the space to actually train.
There's plenty of parking, so you're not circling for a space at 6am, and M6 Junction 36 is around eight miles away. We serve the whole area, from Carnforth and Kirkby Lonsdale to Ingleton, Bentham, Hornby, Casterton and the villages in between.
What's Inside the Gym
TNT is two full floors of training space, not one room of treadmills with a dumbbell rack in the corner. Inside you'll find:
- Squat stations, plate-loaded machines and a full range of free weights
- An 85m² matted area for functional training and classes
- A 10m sled track
- A ski erg, a Rogue Echo air bike and a full range of cardio machines
The point isn't the kit list. It's that you can follow a proper strength programme without improvising around missing equipment.
There's also an on-site barber, Olly, and TNT merch in store. They're small things, but they're part of why the place feels like a clubhouse rather than a unit on an industrial estate.
Classes That Fit Around a Working Week
Gym + 3 Classes is our most popular membership. Classes give your week a structure: there's a time, a coach expecting you, and people you train alongside.
The timetable covers early mornings, mid-mornings and evenings:
- Strength & Conditioning at 6am on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- MetCon and Weighted HIIT mid-morning, for shift workers and anyone doing the school run
- Weighted Circuits, Total Body Workout and T-Rox in the evenings
- Circuits on Saturday mornings with Louise Coates
- Women's Group PT on Wednesday and Friday mornings with Tomi
Our classes scale to your level. Complete beginners work at their own pace next to people who've trained for years, and nobody is judging your numbers but you. See the full line-up on our classes page and check current times on the weekly class timetable.
Coaches Who Know Your Name
TNT was founded by Tomi Tatham, a former professional boxer who reached a #4 UK ranking at light heavyweight. When injury ended his boxing career, he put everything into building this gym, and the coaching team reflects that standard.
You'll train around people like:
- Karrina Howe: S&C coach, BSc Sports Therapist, British Weightlifting Level 2
- Frank Shepherd: Level 3 PT and former county sprinter
- Anna Anyon: Level 3 PT and pre/postnatal specialist
- Louise Coates: coaches powerlifting, CrossFit and Hyrox
- Jess McMillan: competitive bodybuilder, who manages the gym day to day
You can meet everyone on our team page.
The difference you'll feel is that the coaches on the floor know who's new, who's coming back from injury and who's chasing a personal best. That's what "family, not factory" means here.
You'll also find Sharon Rucastle, who has trained with Tomi since 2014, Finn Rayner, who coaches boxing and MMA, and Johnny Palmer, who specialises in body transformation. Between them there's a coach for almost any goal you walk in with.

How to Try TNT Before You Commit
If you're comparing gyms around Carnforth, don't decide from a website, ours included. Buy a £10 Day Pass and train a normal session.
Better still, take a £25 Week Pass. Try a couple of classes at the times you'd actually use, and see whether the drive fits your routine.
That's the honest test. If you're still turning up at the end of the week, you've found your gym.
